That’s one of the most important questions you will have in regards to your roof. Knowing the type of material and when that roof was replaced will help you to answer this question. If you know your roof is relatively new or maybe in the middle of its life span, a repair would be a good choice. But if your roof is about 15-20 years old showing any of these 7 signs of damage its time for a new roof.

Top signs of damage you should look for:

  • Shingle edges that are curled or cupped.
  • Bald spots or missing granules.
  • Cracked shingles.
  • Growing moss
  • Leaks in the home
  • Checking your attic for beams of light shining through the top of the house or any stains on the wood
  • Roof looks worn out or sagging.

Making sure your house is properly ventilated will help extend the life of your roof. Shingles today are produced for durability, however there are a lot of factors that accelerate the aging process of your shingles which ultimately decreases the lifespan of your roof.
